Corner Shop - Emotion Engineering

Interview and photos: Kyle Barnes

Kyle pays a visit to Joey Seely of Emotion Engineering in Newport Beach, CA or a little hear-to-heart.

Kyle: Iced or hot coffee?

Joey: Hot! Unless it’s over 80 degrees outside, then I go iced.

Kyle: What do you think are some of the integral components to change when building track focused cars? Do you think there is a magic upgrade that replaces seat time?

Joey: Nothing replaces seat time but the most important is suspension. Suspension is crucial for all speeds, all conditions, all skill levels. Making the car behave the way it is supposed to with no surprises makes it easier to learn. When you are more confident you go faster. When the car is predictable you are more confident.
