The forecast predicted heavy rain, but for now at least, the thick blanket of cloud has permitted the slightest glimmer of sunshine. There is hope yet. It’s 8am and racers are arriving and unloading in the Goodwood paddock. The AC Owners Club Sprint has always attracted a varied selection of road going and competition vehicles. Entry is not restricted to Thames Ditton machinery, so amongst the AC Aces, Acecas and Cobras there is a strong contingent of pre-war racing cars, historic single seaters, classic Jaguars and even some American muscle.
