A Letter To, Part Two
Words and illustrations: James Singer
The next day I drive out to the beach alone and spend almost my entire remaining 500 dollars cash on a new button-down shirt, a navy waffle cardigan, brown chinos, navy low top Vans, fancy socks, fancy underpants, lunch, a pack of Dunhill cigarettes, and a full tank of gas. I still have an uncashed paycheck for 397 dollars in my wallet and 250 dollars left on a 1,500-dollar credit line, pretty bad shape. No job, no savings, 647 dollars left 1,250 in debt. I have a nice car. I am 20 and I live at my parent’s house. I really don’t care about anything anymore.
I need to stop thinking about this.
