1974 saw the IRA bomb the shit out of everything. They kicked-off their 1974 pursuit of terror by bombing a bus on the M62 motorway and killing 12 people. Other activities on the IRA agenda included bombing the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London, two pubs in Guildford, the Brook’s gentlemen’s club in London, the Kings Arms pub in Woolwich, two pubs in Birmingham, a number of car bombs and the home of former Prime Minister Edward Heath. Hundreds were killed or injured by the IRA in 1974 alone.
